Check out these massive numbers! Big thanks to Matthew Stanford for sharing the pictures from Columbus. Another awesome picture from my ever expanding typographic partnership collection. Perfect example of taking an address, something that most overlook, and turning it into a beautiful design element. It’s just so powerful and has such a presence. Same can be said for the 2 story tall (!!!!) numbers taken in Pittsburgh. They remind me of bent paperclips for some reason. Both of these pictures left such an impression on me. The building in Columbus seems to give more of comfortable, laid back vibe. In contrast, the Pittsburgh building is all business. Clock in, clock out. Done. Just from the shape of the numbers and the materials used. Pretty powerful, indeed.
