manhole monday: squares and stars

MG_MADRID1Happy Manhole Monday! Today’s post are two covers taken by the same person in two different parts of the world. Big BIG thanks to Margaret Gonzalez for noticing the manhole covers in her city of Chicago and during her trip to Spain. I love seeing these side by side. It’s interesting to note the similarities between the square pattern and the all uppercase san serif type used. The cover from Madrid seems more dramatic due to the depth of the letters and the shadows that they create. 7 stars?! Sure, why not!
