It’s #graffitiweek! An entire week devoted to street art. To kick things off, I’m pairing these boys found on opposite sides of the country. They look like they are brothers and belonged together. Same clothes and body type just in different cities. Here’s a close up of the boy from San Francisco:
The boys taken in Boston are done by Brazilian graffiti artists known as Os Gêmeos (Portuguese for The Twins). Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo are identical twins born in 1974 in São Paulo, Brazil. They started painting graffiti in 1987 and gradually became a main influence in the local scene, helping to define Brazil’s own style. Subjects range from family portraits to commentary on São Paulo’s social and political circumstances, as well as Brazilian folklore. Their graffiti style was influenced by both traditional hip hop style and the Brazilian culture. Here’s a close up of their work in Boston:
Here are some more examples of their beautiful work.
If you have any pictures you’d like to contribute to #graffitiweek, send it to me @nikki_vz to be featured in a post this week!
