Manhole Monday: Q

1I’m not pairing manhole covers today because this one needs to be by itself. I had never heard of Qwest before, here’s what I found out (via Wikipedia):
Qwest Communications International, Inc. was a large United States telecommunications carrier. Qwest provided local service in 14 western U.S. states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. On April 22, 2010, CenturyLink announced it would acquire Qwest. The merger closed on April 1, 2011. Qwest began doing business as CenturyLink in August 2011.
So, I consider this a Manhole ghost sign! This cover is located in downtown Albuquerque in the middle of a busy street (why are all the good ones in the middle of the dang street?!). I took the picture above getting weird looks but ‘weird’ quickly turned to ‘horrified’ as I kneeled down to grab this beauty:
2Be horrified all you want people. LOOK AT THAT Q!
She’s awesome.
