Throwback Thursday: a drink with a side of type

These pictures are almost too much to handle.

The picture on the left is just fantastic. It was taken on the lower east side of Manhattan. Schapiro’s Kosher Wine no longer exists but this sign still does. Look at that drink rising from behind the perfectly placed graffiti. The red lettering is so beautifully done. The last s looks like it’s sneaking over to grab just a sip. So great.

Senneco Glass Co. is located in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. I just love the hand painted lettering that sits above the garage door. The pairing with the san serif font, the way the letters sit above the bricks, it’s just all done so well.

I’m in love with both.
