pairHere are two really neat bank signs. What caught my eye with the sign from NYC is the sheer size of it. It’s almost 10 stories tall! Emigrant Savings Bank is the oldest savings bank in New York City and the largest privately owned bank in the country…so that explains the massive sign. The bank was founded in 1850 by 18 members of the Irish Emigrant Society with the goal of serving the needs of the immigrant community in New York.
In stark contrast is the two story building in downtown Cleveland. It opened in 1922 and the bank was a symbol of an era of stabilization for the Romanian community. You can read more about the history of it here if you are interested. Below is the facade of the building. 1

I’d bank with them just because of how awesome their ampersand is.
