stylistic typography

I came across these signs and thought they were both really unique typographic styles. The sign in Richmond (hello drive by shooting!) is a ghost sign. Miller & Rhoads was a department store chain that has since gone under. This sign is what remains from this location. I thought the stainless steel lettering was so neat and had such character…especially for a department store.

I’m comparing it to a flower shop that is located in the 5 points area of downtown Columbia, SC. I have always loved the stylistic approach of the letters, even more so because they are 3D. Here’s a close up:blossom shop
And a close up of the address:addy
