I think these are two really great examples of wooden type. The sign from Cleveland caught my eye because something funky is going on with the lettering. The baseline is non-existent, the apostrophe seems to be too big (I’m not complaining though!) and the dot of the eye has gotten a little to big for his britches. Put it all together and you’ve got one heck of an interesting store front.
Thanks to Kevin Kinsella for taking this picture in Brooklyn. As wacky as Breit’s is, LAUNDERCENTER is holding her own. Those E‘s seem like they were adopted into the family and have made themselves right at home. An interesting looking sign made possible by some wacky letters!
